Clinical signs

Atopic dermatitis

in adults

Less than 10% of AD cases linger after adolescence. The face and hands are the most affected areas. This makes the condition visible and bothersome for social interaction.

These persistent eczemas are the most worrisome. They always require specialized treatment, topical immunomodulators such as tacrolimus (to be applied after the emollient) and sometimes general treatments such as immunosuppressants (cyclosporin and Methotrexate and/or phototherapy).
