- Component A :

is the affected surface area, in % of the body surface area (the rule of 9)

 

- Component B :

is the intensity of the eczema evaluated on the representative lesions, rating five basic lesions on a scale of 0 to 3:

      - erythema (redness)

      - oedema/papulation (thickness)

      - excoriations (wounds)

      - oozing, scab formation

      - lichenification (accentuated skin creases)

      - and a sixth parameter: skin dryness (xerosis).

 

- Component C :

Functional impact  –> evaluation on a visual scale

      - pruritus (from 0 to 10)

      - sleep disturbance  (from 0 to 10)
