H1 Anti-histamines and other “anti-allergy” medicines

 

• Efficacy not proven clinically

   - on eczema itself,

   - nor to prevent asthma

   - Nor against pruritus :

       in fact, physiopathologically speaking, the receptors in question are

      not those involved in allergy but rather those that cause pain.

      This is why anti-histamines are ineffective

 

• Their sedative effect can potentially be useful
