Introduction

Atopic dermatitis

• The most common of chronic childhood illnesses,

   all types included:

 

• between  10% and 20% of children from 0 to 10 years old, and up to 17 % between 0 and 3 years old*

• Prevalence decreases afterwards, but remains significant, even in adults (between 2 and 5%)*

 

• Growing prevalence in industrialized countries

 

• A major impact on the quality of life

   of the child and of his/her family

 

• Linked to other atopic illnesses

   Asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, digestive allergies
